But with Le Vier in control, California was able to score on both the opening and closing possessions of the first half. The first score came on a 32-yard field goal by Le Vier and the second was on a 6-yard pass from Le Vier to Trent Howard to end the half. Whittier scored on a 28-yard pass from Alec Campos to Douglas Schattilly for the Cardinals’ only score. Campos also ran in for the two- point conversion and finished with 133 passing yards on seven of 12 completions. Pat Cici, Jr. Le Vier threw for 128 yards on 8 of 20 completions and rushed for 48 yards. Both schools played tough defense throughout the first half and offensive yards were limited. Whittier did not throw the ball and had only 16 rushing yards through the first half. WHITTIER — It was the Mitch Le Vier show at California High School on Friday night. The Condors scored five times en route to victory over Whittier High School in Del Rio League play and Le Vier was involved in every one of them. He also kicked two extra points and ran the ball in for a two-point conversion.
